Art by Riki – Maui Sand Sculptures

Vacation PhotographyMeet Riki and Tom Inzano – two of our local Maui gurus of 3D sand sculptures. You can see their work at festivals, celebrations and grand openings. But if you have a desire to participate with them, The Grand Wailea offers their classes every Friday from 10-12.

First priority is given to guests of the Grand Wailea, however if there are openings, outside guests and locals may participate. They not only teach you how to create out of sand in 3D, but also provide all the equipment you will require. Bring […]

Learn About Whales in Maui

Whales in MauiIt’s whale season here in the waters of the Hawaiian Islands – especially Maui.  Maalaea Bay is filling up with these beautiful creatures. The North Pacific Humpback Whale is making its annual appearance in our beautiful clear blue waters. Although technically these marvels are from these parts, they migrate between here and Alaska. During the summer months they live in the Alaskan waters,  feasting on krill and small fish until the water becomes too cold. Once that happens they return to Maui to birth their calves and play […]

Your Wedding Photographers in Maui present The Metzingers!

Makena Beach Resort WeddingOn October 8, 2012, Travis and Kelsey came from Alaska to be married on the beautiful Makena Resort Beach. As their wedding photographers in Maui, we were proud to be witnesses to such a lovely day for them.  We met early and did a full shoot in the beautiful Makena Resort Arboretum before their ceremony.  As we captured their “first look,” we could tell this was going to be one exciting wedding to shoot!

We had so much fun that we did another shoot that evening on […]

October 7, 2012

We were hosting our photo booth at the Maui Pride Festival here on Maui this year… along came these 2 energetic, fun-spirited young ladies – Dustie and Kayla. They’d had their Commitment Ceremony back on the Mainland and were over here enjoying their Honeymoon. So why wouldn’t they be full of life? Their new life together had just begun! We had so much fun talking with them that they booked us on the spot to shoot their Honeymoon pictures! Mahalo Girls! Now… if you’ve worked with us before, you […]

Aaron and Mimi

October 5, 2012

October brought about many blessings and one of which was the union of Aaron and Mimi. This beautiful couple left rainy Seattle for a beautiful sunset beach wedding here on Maui. They selected their own beach and had an EZ Weddings Ceremony. With more than 15 people flown to the island to witness their beautiful union, their ceremony went along with the only hiccup being the young ring bearer’s misfortune of playing too far into a wave and being soaking wet for the reception following the ceremony. In my book, […]

Where can you find sea turtles on Maui?

Where can you find sea turtles on Maui?

Leave your camera at home & let us do the work… Come with us and we’ll show you!

One of the popular things to do when visiting Maui is to watch the turtles. Since the turtles tend to come close to shore to eat the vegetation, it’s fairly common to find tourists standing along the shore pointing excitedly at these majestic creatures. A lot of times you’ll even see them grabbing their snorkel […]

A Simple Walk… Ramblings of an Island Girl

Last night I announced that before dinner we should go take a walk on the beach and appreciate what it is about Maui that brings us to live here.

To each of us that meant something different. Tay took off along the waves, jumping and splashing in the ocean’s foam. Our visiting friend tied her dress up high enough to allow her to enjoy the feel of the wet sand between her toes. Penny went directly to the tide pools to look for beautiful tiny creatures. I listened to all the earth’s sounds as I watched how my family’s happiness was exploding around […]

Best Beach in Maui for Lifeguards?

We have to admit that we love our lifeguards on the Kamaole Beaches in Maui’s South Side. They’re not only polite, but also responsive and in great physical condition.

Maui ensures that their lifeguards remain both physically and mentally in shape and as regular beach-goers, we are thankful for this!!

Just this morning a tourist called 9-1-1 to report a swimmer that was “drowning” on Kamaole Beach II.

Withing minutes the lifeguards were out in the water searching where they thought the swimmer went under.

Another few […]
