Maui Mardi GrasThis year, for the second year in a row,  the Maui Aids Foundation has put on an amazing event – Mardi Gras in Maui! The costumes were amazing – if you missed the event, you can catch the pictures here and better yet – you can still make donations of your time or money year-round.

Mardi Gras is one of the special parties each year where you have the opportunity to dress up, be someone else for a night and have a great time. Most people think of Louisiana for such parties. Who would have thought that Maui would have its own amazing good time? Live bands, full color costumes and a dance floor that accepts anyone and everyone over the age of 21.

The party went on all night.  The silent auction they hosted had representation from many local artists and vendors. It was nice to see so many people working for such a great cause. Penny Palmer Photography was asked to be the event photographers and donated 100% of their time for two photographers and many hours of photojournalism.  After editing and making sure the pictures that were less-than-flattering were removed from the gallery, Penny Palmer Photography donated an entire album of the captured fun to the Maui Aids Foundation Mardi Gras. We hope they enjoyed and appreciated it as we appreciate the services they offer to those in need on Maui. Our community is very special to us and as wedding photographers on Maui covering Civil Unions when we can do something to benefit the community, we try our best.  Please consider us when you are selecting your Civil Union Officiant and photographer.

Aloha and hope to see you out there next year!
