April, the month of the young child, was celebrated in grand style at the Valley Isle Keiki Fest 2013 on Maui. Their mission reads, “To promote a positive environment and a community for children to be safe, healthy, and ready to succeed.” They truly succeeded this year!

Young_Miss_MauiLater the stage turned its attention to musical performances by Marty Dread and Uncle Wayne. The kids danced and the adults sang along. It was great fun for folks of all ages!

Keiki_Fest_1Seeing as how the focus on this event was on kids, we decided, at Penny Palmer Photography, to allow our own keiki to help out with this blog.

The following pictures are our 11 year old’s interpretation of the Valley isle Keiki Fest 2013, from her perspective behind the lens. As she explored the rows of booths offering games, activities, safety snippets and tasty treats, she captured moments with one of our cameras. She’s been learning Photoshop, but with a little help from Mom she picked her favorite shots to go through the editing process. We hope you enjoy her perspective below of the 2013 Keiki Fest!
