We have to admit that we love our lifeguards on the Kamaole Beaches in Maui’s South Side.They’re not only polite, but also responsive and in great physical condition.
Maui ensures that their lifeguards remain both physically and mentally in shape and as regular beach-goers, we are thankful for this!!
Just this morning a tourist called 9-1-1 to report a swimmer that was “drowning” on Kamaole Beach II.
Withing minutes the lifeguards were out in the water searching where they thought the swimmer went under.
Another few minutes later the helicopter arrived and they widened the search. After an hour of looking it became apparent that there was no swimmer.
Our best guess? The tourist probably saw one of our amazing Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles swimming around and it finally went to explore the ocean floor.
